DANIF has over the past years
had a lot of successful arrangements; here is a recap of some
of the more memorable events;

Independence Day was celebrated on the 17th of August 1972 at
Vagn Ulsted´s house in Mikkelborg. Unfortunately it began
to rain and the party moved inside, a party never to be forgotten
by the host...
In 1975, J.E. Fabricius, Radiotelegraphy's
was invited to tell about his experiences in Indonesia, 55 years
back in time. As slides did not exist in Indonesia in 1920, postcards
were projected on a screen.
The Windsor cinema in 1984 was
the scene for Danif's culture activities. Javanese & Balinese
dances were performed by the children of Mr. & Mrs. Kjær.
The Kjær´s have lived in Indonesia for 2 years. Followed
by an Indonesian film about a Traditional Wedding. In the same
year the Indonesian Embassy hosted a Keris Exhibitions, which
belonged to the late Mr. J.E.Fabricius.

A Danish family with 2 children travelled through Sumatra, Java
and Irian Jaya on motorbikes, in the early 80's. Danif was lucky
enough to be able to host the family, in giving the members a
lecture about their trip followed by a slide show in 1985.
Mr. Arne Dyhrberg managed to
give Danif members an interesting lecture in 1987, about the
various animals in Indonesia which was experienced during his
stay in Indonesia. We shall always be grateful to his contribution
to Danif as the late Mr. Arne Dyhrberg was also one of the founding
members of Danif.
May 13th 1988, was one of the
most ambitious cultural activities where Danif was involved.
Exclusive dances and a fashion show was held at the former Sheraton
Hotel. National dances were performed, choreographed by Sukarno
Putra; the fashion show featured famous designer Ghea Sukasah
and Chossy Latu, not to mention the delicious Indonesian specialities
that were served at the buffet. It was indeed the best Indonesian
Culture Event ever, arranged in collaboration with the Indonesian
Embassy, Sheraton Hotel and Danif. The Indonesian Ambassador
H.E. Sutadi Sukarya opened the evening with a speech.

Peter Liebs Hus was the perfect place to host one of Danif's
annual parties in 1998. A couple of years later we were back
at Peter Liebs to host a farewell dinner for H.E. Sutadi Sukarya,
who was the Ambassador at that time. Danif´s farewell present
was a painting of the residence of the Ambassador in Krathusvej.
The painting was painted by Merete Rosenfeldt.
The Town Hall of Copenhagen hosted
an exhibition of "Bali Masker & Musik" in 1991.
The exhibition was initiated by Mr. Henrik Bak. Keris and Wayang
Kulit (Shadow puppets) were also on displayed. This exhibition
was a collaboration between DANIF, the Indonesian Embassy and
the Copenhagen Town Hall.
Twenty-one Danif members joined
the ceremony of the Øresund bridges' opening on the 20th
of June 2000. It was indeed one of the biggest events at the
end of the 20th century. Some of the members made the long walk
to the other side of the bridge.
In spring 2001, Danif was involved
in several activities in connection with the visit of A Balinese
music group called "Double T". The first jam session
was at Søhesten on the 13th of July - there were approx.
30 people enjoying the lively music of the band.
Danif participated in the project
of "Around the world on Amager" in Hegoland on the
11th of August. Danif sponsored the performance of "Double
T". Due to the co-operation between some of Danif's members,
it was made possible to serve delicious Indonesian food and provide
entertainment, in the form of traditional Indonesian dances.
While the guests were enjoying the authentic Indonesian meals,
they were entertained by traditional dances.
In connection with the visit
of "Double T", Danif coordinated; Indonesian Food Festival
in Hornbæk. Again it was a unique evening with delicious
Indonesian food and live music.
Danif participated in the nation
wide "Images of Asia" conference in 2003. The highlight
of the event was a seminar "Asian Women in Dialog";
Danif was represented by Janti von Holdt.
The year of 2004 started with
Roskilde Culture Evening in cooperation with Venner over Grænser
(Friends beyond Boaders)
Danif has tried several yearly
activities, by having the annual dinner, Christmas party and
lately a picnic at the Dyrehaven, which has become one of the
most attractive events among Danif's members.
2005: Danif celebrates its 35th
anniversary.
